The boss is more aggressive during this phase, and will try to close the distance rapidly if he starts taking damage. However, if you remain fairly passive, and far away from the boss, it's very likely he will get in fights with the other Watchers, giving you free opportunities to cast spells.ĭuring Phase Two, when it's just you and him, continue creating distance, but don't get greedy with your spell casts. Phase one can be a little trickier due to the amount of enemies that can spawn. Keep your distance, cast 1, maybe 2 spells, then back pedal / dodge around until you create some space again. Treat the fight like you would any common group of enemies. These enemies are weak to magic, particularly Sorceries and Miracles. This is one of those rare fights where being a mage pays off. Stay close, dodge when possible, block for emergencies and aim to hit him in the sides and back to maximize damage. In general though, this boss should be treated like any other knight class enemy. A high poise damaging weapon will also be handy here, as you can stagger the boss, making things far easier. Keep in close, dodge around and you can even get some backstabs in if your positioning is fast. Try to incorporate more dodging into your attacks, if you weren't already. His attack pattern will remain largely unchanged, but shields will need to have high fire resistance if you still want to continue blocking his attacks. The fight no longer has other enemies in it as well. After killing the boss once, he will come back but with flame imbued attacks.
